For 46 years, the Visitor Industry Charity Walk has helped transform lives across Kaua‘i. This year, we’re walking with a purpose—to raise $1,000 for YWCA Kaua‘i and provide shelter, safety, and support for survivors of domestic violence.

Last year, we received $3,513.42 in grant funds that helped us provide educational resources and raise awareness. This year, we’re aiming for $5,000 to support our Family Violence Shelter, a refuge for those seeking safety and healing.

At Camp Sloggett we believe in the transformative power of nature and outdoor experiences. Our camp serves as a sanctuary for children, families, and individuals to connect with the great outdoors, create lifelong memories, and foster personal growth. Maintaining our camp's facilities, trails, lodge, and natural spaces requires ongoing dedication and resources. As Kaua`i's foremost service provider, we stand as guardians of community safety. Our 24-hour hotline offers crucial crisis counseling, information, referrals, and safety planning, alongside our vital family violence shelter. With offender services, we actively cultivate a safer environment for all. Your support empowers these essential initiatives.

We provide school-based curricula for K-12th grade, covering topics like safe talk/touch, boundaries, and available resources. Our culturally age-appropriate program aligns with Hawaii's Health Education Standards, offered free to all Kaua`i schools.

Together, we champion the rights and inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and marginalized individuals. Our year-round efforts address discrimination, improve healthcare access, advocate for legal rights, and foster social acceptance, all while promoting respect and dignity for everyone. In December 2023, a property adjacent to our offices was listed with the potential for numerous rentable units. Our generous supporters acquired the property and are leasing the property to us with the option to buy. Your donation will move us closer to our dream of purchasing the property and securing seven residential housing units to be used for generations.

Help us transform spaces into homes for those in need! The YWCA aims to raise $400K for property and essential renovations. Here's a snapshot:

·A spacious three-bedroom house: Major overhaul needed.

·Three units under one roof, needing TLC: From studio simplicity to one-bedroom comfort, we're revamping with care.

The YWCA is a leader on issues of women's empowerment and nurturing women's leadership in our community. We work to improve the lives of women and girls through economic empowerment, community education and ending the types of violence that are prevalent against women and girls. This scholarship is our commitment to encourage and support young women in achieving their educational pursuits.
