Sexual Assault Treatment Program

The YWCA of Kauai has run the Sexual Assault Treatment Program since 1982. The program provides 24-hour crisis intervention, counseling, medical, legal and judiciary advocacy for victims of sexual assault and their families. If you have been sexually assaulted, we can help you with:
  • individual, couples and group therapy to address issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, substance abuse and relationship problems
  • case management services to develop a plan of action and assist you in getting food, shelter, clothing and financial assistance as needed
  • legal systems advocacy, including making contact with law enforcement personnel, accompanying you to legal interviews and hearings, and helping you prepare for court

Program staff also conduct presentations to the community about sexual assault and sexual abuse, and offer training to professionals who work with sexual assault victims.
