School Based Education and Prevention Services
YWCA staff can make presentations to students at all educational levels, from preschool to university,
on age-appropriate topics related to health, safety and sexuality. Topics for young children include
information on good and bad touching, taking good care of one’s body, safety rules, and healthy
lifestyles. Presentations for older students include topics on understanding healthy relationships
and the dynamics of interpersonal violence and sexual assault and how each person addresses
violence if it occurs in their lives.
Our staff use curricula that have been developed specifically for Hawaii, and which are
used throughout the state. Presentations are offered to schools at no charge.
